Picture[edit]

I saw this picture in the commoms. It's not great, but it's a picture from the tour! http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DSCF5037.JPG 155.69.2.13 (talk) 07:11, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I know the image wasn't used because we didn't know the song, but now I know that the image was from Fuck Him. It's the only song that she performs in the diamond with a guitar. So I'm just going to go ahead and add it, remove if disagree. Fixer23 (talk) 07:05, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image removal[edit]

I see the image I added of her in concert during the tour was removed with the comment: "Add which song it is or please do not add it." We know it was taken during the tour, but are we setting too high of a standard here by requiring that we know what song she was singing at that time before we can add it? I mean, take a look at Getty Images - their images are on average of far higher quality than any we're likely to get for here, and they don't note what the song is. For example, if you look at the caption for this image of her Hollywood Palladium show, all it says is "Recording artist Ke$ha performs at Hollywood Palladium on May 6, 2011 in Hollywood, California.", and none of the keywords for it state what the image is either... Tabercil (talk) 23:12, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately this is a encyclopedia and everything must be veritable. The song that it is is needed otherwise it could be added to her other articles, which creates WP:OR problems are users could argue shes performing "this song" and someone else could say "no shes performing this one".. Because she wears this outfit for numerous songs we ourselves cannot determine which song it is, unless you are the author of the photo and can verify which song it is, it should not be added. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:20, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The photo is being used to illustrate the the article on the tour, not to illustrate an article on a given song. We know it was taken during a concert on the tour. Tabercil (talk) 23:33, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's an awesome image anywho, I'll try to find the song. Otherwise can we use it for the Kesha article? 155.69.2.13 (talk) 23:47, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've already emailed the author asking that question, but I honestly think the requirement is being set way too high. By that same standard, we can't use the image present in Ziggy Stardust Tour either - I mean, we don't know what song is being sung. Though the odds of someone remembering what song it is thirty years after would be a long stretch of the imagination. Also, if someone does try and remove it, I'll consider it a violation of WP:POINT and thus worthy of my using the mop... Tabercil (talk) 23:51, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot to log in. I agree with you that it's not imperative that the song is known. But if you're wondering about the impossible task I had undertaken, the only possible songs are Tik Tok and Dinosaur (or the talking in between songs). Fixer23 (talk) 23:58, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The photo is used to illustrate the tour, yes, but what prevents it from being used elsewhere? Without adequate information on the image it can cause a conflict in the future. Once this goes up for GA caption titles are required, unless the author tells you which song this is (as it could be one of four) then im opposing its addition. You added the image to "Opening acts", how does that greater the readers understanding of who performed with her?, its just her standing there, images should be directly related to the text and without a song it had nothing (or very much) to do with the article. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:00, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No, she also uses the outfit for "Grow A Pear", its interchangeable on "Tik Tok" (with her neon outfit, depends on where she is she has used both), this is why im saying we need author information. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:05, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We can't agree on this, and it's next to impossible to find the song. I propose we focus on the outfit (it's notable, kinda, not really. there's independent coverage on it [1]) instead of the song (we know for sure that it's the final portion of the concert before the encore, and if we describe the fashion more, the song doesn't become important as she wears the piece for that portion of the night) and caption the image as follows (or something similar): "Kesha performing in a rhinestone infused skeleton bodypiece during the final portion of the concert." Kind of rambling in the parantheses, but hope you get the idea. Fixer23 (talk) 00:45, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever works. As I said, I just want to see it used so the contributor can see the fruits of his generosity... Tabercil (talk) 00:54, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And I just heard back from the photographer - no clue what the song is... Tabercil (talk) 02:28, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've uploaded one photo from when she performed We R Who We R (she started the show with this song), but I wish I would've brought my camera! I only had my iPhone and I only had like 7% battery so it died right when "Take It Off" started :/ Pancake (talk) 15:30, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Kesha at SUNY crop.jpg, this one is from the performance of "Tik Tok" I can confirm. I checked the image with a friend of mine who visited the concert. Also confirmation is from the fact that the last song was performed with Kesha wearing a cape, which is not present in this one. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:23, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ah thank you so much! Tabercil (talk) 12:42, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Another sidenote[edit]

I know this might be annoying (so I made a new section, so that it doesn't affect the conversation above), but I see an image has already been added to Kesha. Disregard the other sidenote  :) Keep up the good work with adding new Kesha images, Tabercil! Fixer23 (talk) 00:06, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, the images are definitely appreciated. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:09, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That other image is why I added this image to it... I usually run about 1 in 3 in terms of my luck in getting images from Flickr, so I emailed 3 different people expecting to get 1 "yes you can use it". Well it was a happy problem when I got two yeses and an article on Kesha that's not long enough to support adding both of them. I definitely think that US Naval Academy image is a better fit at Kesha... So if I can't add File:Kesha at SUNY crop.jpg to here (and I still think you folks are really out to lunch on that count), any thoughts on where I can put it?? I definitely want to have it up on an article, just as a thank-you for the change... Tabercil (talk) 00:28, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP:SYNTH; Get Sleazy ended on the 20th. This concert has nothing to do with the tour, it is just a performance. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 18:53, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
