Is this an article or part of Gigantour's marketing?

This page, and its placement on the frontpage, is presented more like an ad or press release for an upcoming event than as a Wikipedia entry. I'd suggest some heavy editing to be less "fan oriented" and possible deletion until after the event has happened. --Glowimperial 14:49, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I wrote the majority of the article, and I'm not affiliated with Gigantour or any of the bands on the bill. I am a big Dream Theater fan, but that's about it. plattopusis this thing on? 15:42, Apr 8, 2005 (UTC)
I removed the last sentence about the ticket price info, I think that might bring the article more in line with Wikipedia's policies. If there was something historical, novel or really signifigant about the ticket price, then info about it would probably be more appropriate. I'm a big fan of metal myself, and it would be great if you were able to keep updating this page as this series of concerts develops.--Glowimperial
I don't think I included the ticket price, but yeah I agree that it has no place in the article. plattopusis this thing on? 19:20, Apr 8, 2005 (UTC)

I voted for deletion. You can still resurrect the article once the event is over. It's supposed to be an encyclopedia. That's at least my 1 1/2 cents.

I don't see this as marketing. Okay, maybe it is subtle promotion, in a way. But if you're not a fan, then you probably aren't reading up on it anyway. Sheesh. Good thing McDonalds and Coca-Cola aren't on Wikipedia... ;-) -DTfan 5-27-2005
