Impossible date, most likely date of death[edit]

A reader wrote to Wikimedia ticket:2018072810001883 with the following observation:

The second sentence states that he served as master until 1490, but his date of death was three years earlier. At least one of those years must be wrong. The source for his service seems fairly clear but it ended in 1490 so perhaps the date of death is incorrect. I note it isn't sourced.--S Philbrick (Talk) 23:04, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
