Thought this merited an article as it's such a bizarre event. Apart from appearing on lists of peculiar disasters tho', refs are thin on the ground. Only historicmedway seems to have much info about it, but if anyone has any other sources, please add!
Not sure about the title. There doesn't really seem to be one particular designation by which it's known (probably precisely because it *isn't* that well-known), so "Gillingham Fair fire disaster" seems as good as anything else ("Gillingham firefighting demonstration disaster" seems a bit clumsy for example). I'll do a redirect from "Fireman's Wedding disaster" - I've never come across that terminology before, but that's what historicmedway calls it. If anyone sees any pressing reason to move to a different title tho', I've no particular objection. Draggleduck (talk) 16:01, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
