Older comments[edit]

Dr Gori is widely cited as an authority on passive smoking (12400 Google hits for his full name). He has recently published an article in the Cato journal on this topic and a widely-cited opinion piece in the Washington Post. He is being proposed as a source for the article Passive smoking. In these circumstances, an article about him is appropriate.JQ 12:34, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that. At first sight, I thought this was a puff piece about a tobacco industry stooge. Anyhow, I've removed the tags. Good luck! --ROGER TALK 14:47, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I'm obviously getting the hang of WP:NPOV - let the facts speak for themselves.JQ 23:03, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Original research[edit]

The greatest part of the contents of this article is original research, using tobacco industry documents as source of raw information. I have added two sources at the top which, as a minimum, give the article some foundation on reliable sources, as per Wikipedia editorial policy. Much more is is needed. --Dessources 08:52, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting "safer cigarette" sentence[edit]

I've deleted this sentence from the lede: "Gori believed a safer cigarette could be made, and that there were safe threshold levels for exposure to the chemicals in cigarette smoke." Gori did make a number of statements that sounded like that, but they were so hypothetical and hedged that it's hard to draw any definite conclusion from them. See the discussion on pp. 430–432 of: Kluger, Richard (1997). Ashes to Ashes: American's Hundred-Year Cigarette War, the Public Health, and the Unabashed Triumph of Philip Morris. Trimming external links[edit]

The table of external documents is a bit of a mess. I propose that it be trimmed down to its bare links and its interpretation (via a published source) be placed in the main body of the article. Jamgoodman (talk) 18:05, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
