Music study and diploma[edit]

Giuseppe Monterosso studied and played in the Banda di Canicattì between 1872 and 1886, with the masters Giuseppe Montelepre, Eugenio Pellegrini and Edoardo Piacentini, who taught him to play the Piccolo Flute, the Transverse Flute and initiated him into the study of Harmony ^[1]. He was fully trained in composition and band instrumentation^[2] with the brilliant (he was also an inventor) maestro and conductor Giovanni Tarditi, head of music in the Italian Army Headquarters. ^[3]

Between 1892 and 1893 he graduated from the Palermo Conservatory in Flute, Composition, Band Instrumentation and Orchestra Conducting ^[4]. Edadac (talk) 19:17, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Some encyclopaedic characteristics of the musician Giuseppe Monterosso.[edit]

The works of Giuseppe Monterosso, his own original compositions and numerous works of instrumentation and musical arrangement have been acquired by right from the Municipal Historical Archive of Acireale (CT), recognized as a "public body" of regional and national importance and declared of "particular importance" by the Ministry of Cultural and Environmental Heritage in 1991.

The attestation of historical and national importance and protection of the Italian State regarding the Archive of Acireale are attributed on the basis of art. 31 letter "e" of the Presidential Decree of the Italian Republic n. 1049 of 30 September 1963 with Decree of the Ministry for Cultural and Environmental Heritage of 10-10-1991 (transmitted with protocol 3941|VIII 3 - Attachments 1, of the Superintendence of Archives, Palermo, 31 Oct. 1991). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Edadac (talk • contribs) 13:19, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Municipal Historical Archive (A.S.C.A.) of Acireale (CT), consisting of the Ancient Fund (1422 - 1909) and the Modern Fund (1913-1980), has an annexed section called "Musical Archive" which contains documents, scores, original scores of various kinds from around 1600 until 1955 and various memorabilia relating to music, especially from the 19th century. It should be added that the printed works of Giuseppe Monterosso, mostly produced in Malta, were lost in the bombing of the "Kazin" ("Little house of the band", in Maltese language) of the Vilhena Band and of the King's Own, which took place in 1941. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Edadac (talk • contribs) 22:04, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Giuseppe Monterosso carried out his artistic activity, for him and his family a source of economic sustenance, in Italy and abroad, where he was called for fame and notoriety by: "Vilhena Philharmonic Society - Floriana, Malta", "Prince of Wales Own Philharmonic Society” - Birgu, Malta), “King's Own Band Philharmonic Society - Valletta, Malta”.

Above all, the artistic importance of Giuseppe Monterosso is given by the fact that together with Aurelio Doncich he contributed to the reform of the "Cantata" between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in southern Italy where it is still practiced, and, in Malta, again with Doncich, he implemented the reform of the personnel of the musical bands according to the theory of Alessandro Vessella^[5]

The text that I reproduce on the page is part of my research and is found in a word file where I adjust the text and its translation from which I also copy and paste.

I must specify that my sole purpose is to promote culture and to respond to the multiple requests of many people who want to learn more about the character.

I'm not interested in becoming an administrator or prominent personality of Wikipedia, but only in contributing to the lofty and noble project of promoting culture, which is not of the first or second category, when it shows its effectiveness and above all the identity of the people who practice it and live it.
