What headings and sections should be included? There is a wealth of material to be included in the development lit. It must also be differentiated from the Porter Style VC analysis. Though a link needs to be made.

Further material included but now need someone to say something about how the WB and others used the approach in the 1990s and how it has changed over time.

Also need to summarise issues of governance and upgrading categories. Thuriaux (talk) 15:15, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Development and upgrading, oldid 1034947255[edit]

The section affirms "pgrading into design, marketing and branding might be hindered by exporting under certain conditions because MNEs have no interest in transferring these core skills to their suppliers".

This paper shows that multiple studies have been permormed in relation to the tertiarization -or full delocalization- of high-value-added activities like design and branding, in favour to suppliers operating in developing countries. The main barrier to functional upgrading is represented by the instability of their economies and political institutions. But those type of activities require minor investments in fixed capital than those needed for low-value-added activities like production and assembly. Regards, Theologian81sp
