COI tag[edit]

I have added the COI tag after User:MarkWriter objected to another editor's changes to this page, in this edit [1] stating:-

Each of our Companies are trademarked, wholly-owned subsidiaries of Torchmark Corporation. These pages were written by English-degreed Company employees for adherence to our Company Style Guide and brand consistency, and have been approved by our legal team. If further edit warring occurs, we will block you from editing our Wikipedia pages.

This is clearly a self-confessed WP:COI situation, and an attempt to WP:OWN the article. Arjayay (talk) 17:58, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Company Name Change[edit]

I have a COI and need a few major edits made. The name of the company has changed to Globe Life Insurance Company of New York. Article name and numerous mentions throughout article will need to be changed. [1] Additionally, the info about CEO should be removed as Vern Herbel is no longer the CEO of GLNY and there was no citation for that section anyway. There is no CEO currently but there is a president. There is no publicly verifiable info at this time regarding president so I don't believe it should be added. The website is now www.globelifeofnewyork.com. Suggest adding the following text in the opening paragraph: "The company was previously known as First United American Life Insurance Company, but changed its name to Globe Life Insurance Company of New York on January 1st, 2017."  Partly done = I have made the basic changes and moved the page, although the history still largely refers to the old company as that is what it was until 9 days ago. However, I cannot find an easily re-usable logo - could you get your IT department to upload one, under a fair use claim, to en.wikipedia - not Wikimedia Commons - and provide new the file name here, so it can be added - Arjayay (talk) 17:21, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thumbs up icon Thanks Arjayay! It looks like the info under history now refers to the company's previous name as "United American" but that should be "First United American Life Insurance Company". To clean this up, please use this rewritten text for the first paragraph under History: "In 1981, Globe International Life Insurance Company was incorporated as a stock life insurance company. The company later changed its name to First United American Life Insurance Company and then to Globe Life Insurance Company of New York in 2017.[2]" Clearly, some content that was not cited was removed in this rewrite(United American was chartered that year as a result of their business spreading across the United States. First UA wrote its first piece of business in 1986.). Regarding the logo, could you please use the one in the press release referenced above? If not, I will upload a new one. The one that was uploaded by VB00 is actually the logo for Globe Life And Accident Insurance Company rather than Globe Life Insurance Company of New York.Corey a jones (talk) 17:29, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Reflect 8/8/19 Company Brand Change[edit]

I have a COI since I work for Globe Life

Update Infobox

|type= Subsidiary of Globe Life[1]

Change the last sentence of the first paragraph.

The company is a subsidiary of Globe Life (NYSE: GL), based in McKinney, Texas. [2]

In the History section, update the first sentence.

In 1981, as United American, the company became a member of Globe Life, a financial services holding company, listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: GL).[3]United American was chartered that year as a result of their business spreading across the United States.

History Update[edit]

I have a COI since I work for Globe Life, so I am submitting the following edit request through the Talk page instead. We are required to make this update in a timely fashion.

In the history section, please update this sentence: First United American has earned the A+ (Superior) Financial Rating from A.M. Best Company to read:

Globe Life Insurance Company of New York has earned the A (Excellent) Financial Rating from A.M. Best Company.

Laurettashokler (talk) 20:10, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done Updated to article, but instead of a new line, I followed on the first rating A+ (Superior) statement to reflect the change of rating. --Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 06:44, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
