Deceptive labeling of glucose syrup[edit]

I came to this page because I saw glucose syrup labeled on a cookie in the USA. I can't have fructose but I can have glucose so I thought it was fine for me to eat (it was not). I suspect what is happening is that corn syrup has gotten a bad name and now food manufacturers are relabeling it glucose syrup. It worked on me. Does anybody know if this is the case? If so I suspect it would be a useful thing to include in this article..

Why a separate page for "glucose syrup"?[edit]

This page used to be a redirect to "corn syrup", but glucose syrup is a more general concept than corn syrup. Corn syrup is a significant enough subject in USA for a separate page to be worthwhile: the specifics of manufacturing glucose syrup from corn can be on that page, while the broader subject can be treated here. --Slashme (talk) 08:31, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
