The article references the Guardian which suggests but does not state that Godfrey died after an accident under the Hyde Park Underpass in London. My father, Godfrey Pilkington, did have an accident under the Hyde Park Underpass in the late summer of 1984 (August?) - but he died in 2007 after battling complications from Prostate Cancer, 33 years after the accident.
