Lead[edit]

  • kaiju film would be better with only kaiju linked as the article is about kaiju in general and not just in films.
  • June 2, 1959 by Warner Bros. Pictures, should be "June 2, 1959, by Warner Bros. Pictures," per MOS:DATES.

Plot[edit]

Cast[edit]

  • If all of the cast is linked to the book reference, you don't need to use it twice in the list.
  • The section goes on to say that the cast is taken from Japan's Favorite Mon-star which is a different book. Without using an account to check out that Archive book, I'm assuming that it references the entire cast except for Godzilla and Anguirus. If that is the case, I suggest rewording "Cast taken from Japan's Favorite Mon-star" to something that clarifies it does not include the roles of Godzilla and Anguirus.

Special effects[edit]

  • "Weren't" to "were not"
  • Unlink puppet as a common word

Theatrical[edit]

  • "The Japanese version was released to Japanese speaking theaters in the United States prior to the altered American version." When was the Japanese version released to Japanese speaking theaters in the United States? I never heard of such a thing in the United States.
I'm confused by this comment and what the issue is. Is the issue that you've never heard of its release to Japanese-only theaters in the U.S., or the lack of a release date for these Japanese-only theaters? The source, you can find here (1), only states that the Japanese version was released in Japanese speaking theaters before the 1959 American version. No date is specified. I thought it best to write it as it is written by the source to avoid disputes. Armegon (talk) 08:20, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Armegon I meant that I never heard of such as a thing of theaters in the United States that played only Japanese language films. That book is the only source where I can find such a mention of it. Searching for "Japanese speaking theaters" with the quotes on Google reveals only unreliable sources. Google Books reveals nothing new. SL93 (talk) 10:23, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I brought this up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film for assistance. SL93 (talk) 10:30, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I closed my Wikiproject Film section because I found my answer. Other reliable sources refer to it as "Japanese movie theaters". I think your wording is fine and understandable now. SL93 (talk) 10:44, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

American version[edit]

  • "Didn't" to "did not"
  • "May 21, 1959" should be "May 21, 1959,"
  • Link dubbing to Dubbing (filmmaking) as a potentially unfamiliar term SL93 (talk) 21:05, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Years later, Tanaka admitted that the crew had little time to prepare and hardly considers the film a success." What year exactly?
Changed this one to "Tanaka later admitted that the crew had little time to prepare and hardly considers the film a success." Armegon (talk) 08:02, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That works. SL93 (talk) 10:24, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I see that all of the fixes were made. As a fan of Godzilla and Japanese popular culture, I enjoyed reviewing the article. SL93 (talk) 10:49, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
