Dead external links to Allmusic website – January 2011[edit]

Since Allmusic have changed the syntax of their URLs, 1 link(s) used in the article do not work anymore and can't be migrated automatically. Please use the search option on http://www.allmusic.com to find the new location of the linked Allmusic article(s) and fix the link(s) accordingly, prefereably by using the {{Allmusic}} template. If a new location cannot be found, the link(s) should be removed. This applies to the following external links:

Other Cover Versions[edit]

An editor wants to remove the entire "Other Cover Versions" section of this article, citing WP:SONGCOVER as their rationale. The guidelines at WP:SONGCOVER state that "When a song has renditions by more than one artist, discussion of a particular artist's rendition should be included in the song's article (never in a separate article), but only if at least one of the following applies: a) the rendition is discussed by a reliable source on the subject of the song (not on the subject of the rendition), or b) the rendition itself meets the notability requirement at WP:NSONGS."

The cover versions of "Goin' Back" listed are all included in the article for the song in question, not in separate articles, and all of the versions mentioned meet Wikipedia notability requirements for songs, as defined at WP:NSONG. In addition, the section is, for the most part, well sourced with reliable third party inline citations. Therefore I see no reason for deleting it. At most, the section could be improved by adding some additional inline citations, but deleting everything in the section is overkill. This is a real head scratcher...I can't imagine why any editor would think that this section needs to be deleted entirely. --Kohoutek1138 (talk) 18:08, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
