This page is not unambiguously promotional, because it describes the actual history of the language.

Was the page about Java promotional because Sun Microsystems is mentioned? --82.216.8.192 (talk) 20:29, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) --90.24.180.93 (talk) 20:46, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder when Research projects, conducted by some university researcher, started to be considered as promotional... Golo was started as a Proof of Concept around the JVM InvokeDynamic instruction, to show how it can be leveraged to build a brand new language on top of the JVM. By all means, it's a test bed for experimentation and serves mainly for educational purposes.

As stated on the Golo web site : "Golo is being developed as part of the research activities of the Dynamid group of the CITI Laboratory at INSA-Lyon. ". FTR, INSA Lyon is more or less the equivalent of Mach university when it comes to computer science.

Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because every sentence reflects verified facts about that programming language. There are no judgements or biased criticism AFAICT. All parties involved are academics and I will provide evidence of publication to give more details about it. Please indicate what to change (like maybe mentioning the JVM without mentioning Oracle?). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Franckverrot (talkcontribs) 20:48, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... it features results of peer-reviewed research, and a project transferred to a reputed opensource foundation.

BTW I am the creator of Golo, and an author of the mentioned publications. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Julien.ponge (talkcontribs) 21:02, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
