Observer[edit]

Hi, I will be observing your page. I think that one thing you guys might want to add is some screenshots of the Google Catalog site. I agree with the suggestion below that you might want to go in to more depth with how the relationship between retailers and Catalogs work. How does Google choose which products are featured? Is there some kind of algorithm, much like their search engine, that makes some products more featured than others? Hey, I will also be observing this page. One question you might want to address in a section is the relationship between google catalogs and the actual retailers. Is there some sort of arrangement that for every purchase because of google catalogs, does the retailer pay them some sort of commission? Also, how do retailers go about have their catalog become a part of google catalogs? --kmacdonald4 (talk) 13:09, 29 September 2011

Hello Google Catalogs Group, I just wanted to offer a few suggestions as an observer of your article. I think that you should link all the mentioned companies (and other references in your article) to their Wiki pages. Further, I am not sure if it makes sense to talk about Google Catalog's parent (Google) in your history section, but I would at least mention briefly the start of Google and its evolution to including Google Catalogs in its platform. I think this would beef up this section and provide a bit more insight. I thought your organization and inclusion of "User Experience" was useful and I thought it added a lot to your paper. Also, I am a bit confused by your "Participating Merchants" section; can a user of Google Catalogs only buy Women's Fashion Apparel? Those are the suggestions I have as of right now. I like the information sidebar that you included, I think this is a nice addition that aids in the organization and useability of this Wiki article. Hello again! I just wanted to say that I really like the new additions you have. I think the organization of this article is very good and definitely provides the reader with an easy-to-use and navigable page to utilize. I also like that you took my advice to link references in the article to other Wikipedia pages; however, with this I see that there are a lot of non-existent Wikipedia pages that you linked so try removing those links and leave them as just type-face.
