Certainly a cool project, however: Has anybody seen any "hard" information that this device actually works at all?
All I see in the references are the announcements by Goggle and news portals (Washington Post, Fox, CBC) citing the very same Google announcements. If there is not independent or peer-reviewed information - has Google ever published at least an examplary data curve with any correlation to a reference measurement?

Well after four years they figured out that their product was nonsense and pulled the plug on it. Imagine making a whole product only to find out years later that it doesn't work at all because you got the basic science wrong...
