Some tertiary sources mention a major collision in 1984 - this is likely a typo for 1988

Also sources mention the bridge span been pushed out by as much as 30ft or 6m this is also probably some sort of tpyo - not sure maybe 6ft or 6ft max - there's a picture here http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1678979
