Owners of the franchise[edit]

In the heading the article says JoWood is the current owner of the franchise. That is not entirely accurate: PB still holds the right to the first Gothic, and (although I'm not sure) I think they still hold the rights to the potential Gothic 5. So in effect PB holds the de facto rights to the series, JW just owns G2, G3 and G4. It's all very complicated and the exact terms of the contract haven't been made clear.
