Is the second side of "Spearhead of Dahmsdorf-Müncheberg" purposely left out because of the swastika on it?

I'm perplexed to see only one side of the "Spearhead of Dahmsdorf-Müncheberg" in the image of it. It begs the question of whether the image of the other side of it was purposely left out since it, among other things, displays a little swastika. Does "Maerings" refer to the Ostrogoths?

I don't see any citation that it does. It could refer to Gothicized Volga Finns; Jordanes isn't reliable but refers to the Merens and Mordwins. It could refer to yet another group. 173.66.5.216 (talk) 21:52, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Reference Request: [o]ranje

I'd very much like to see any notions about reading oranja for the Dahmsdorf-Müncheberg spear head. It's so obvious that I think a reference request is in order.

Found near Berlin, circular character before the word ... could it be ... Oranje? I mean, there's Oranienburg north of Berlin. This would be an anachronism, of course. A reasonable interpretation is needed.

The O in the Futhark is not usually round. Magic characters may be poorly understood, but could also stand for diphtongs or other values the Futhark didn't readily offer. It might even be a logogram, though comparison to Sumerian DIN.GIR, AN, may be a stretch. The script might spell out the logo, *hringaz, with a bit of leaway. There's Rangsdorf nearby, though I'm under no illusion that it's much older than the typical thorp around here, it's just the first one that came to mind. The I rune is hatdly legible in the image109.41.2.135 (talk) 14:18, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
