Organisation of NSW government articles

Hi - I'm trying to do a brief update to this page amongst others, and I'm finding that the massive list of NSW government articles has become extremely complex and unclear as to what each article covers. For example, this article is meant (?) to cover the executive branch, but basically gives an introduction to the legislative branch and the list of ministers, while Politics of New South Wales talks about the legislative branch for each level of government not the state political structure, and then New South Wales repeats it all again? And then Parliament of New South Wales covers the structure for a fourth time, but then also talks about executive government, the ministers, and the state emblem?

My first thought is to do a sweeping review/fix-up and have it like this:

• New South Wales - brief intro under #Government to the three branches, merge most content about state emblems into this article
• NSW Government/this article - brief reference (not intro, just mention) of the three branches, but focus on the executive branch that operates under the NSW Government identity, structured into its portfolios/clusters
  • Department articles for each as relevant which provide details etc about the dept, and its underlying agencies (or split to own article as indicated)
  • Each ministry article - such as Minns ministry
• Parliament of New South Wales - all about the legislative branch, merge any members of xx articles in the relevant chamber's article
  • Legislative Assembly
  • Legislative Council
• Politics of New South Wales - elections, parties, campaigns etc
  • 2023 New South Wales election etc articles
• Judiciary of New South Wales - all about the judicial branch/court system
  • Article for each general court (Local, District, Supreme), then a combined article for the specialist courts

Can I get people's thoughts about doing a major clean up of all these articles and getting rid of the duplication? Cheers! Tim (Talk) 06:01, 24 February 2024 (UTC)

I am generally amenable to the changes proposed, especially splitting up the three branches of Government.

The only thing I would change/add is that the Government of New South Wales be the where all three branches of Government are found and a seperate executive page be created. Perhaps this could be a reuse and expansion of the Exec Council page.
