Viceregal powers/disputes?[edit]

Hi; I'm not familiar with Jamaican constitutional history but just checking in to see if there have been any instances of t he Governor-General of Jamaica using reserve powers or in any other way taking part in the politics of Jamaica, e.g. perhaps as regards succession/dismissal of governments/first ministers, but not necessarily. There are numerous sections on Talk:2008 Canadian parliamentary dispute raising the issue of parallels/precedents in other Commonwealth countries ('twas me who mentioned/speculated upon Jamaica there). Again, I don't know if there was but wasn't there something to do with relations with the Crown during the Manley years? This seems the most appropriate Jamaica page to ask on, perhaps Politics of Jamaica might be a better place to ask? And, might anyone know, were there any similar proceedings in any other Caribbean Commonwealth countries?Skookum1 (talk) 04:47, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
