character background[edit]

"In Charles Addams' original The New Yorker cartoon strips, the character was referred to as Grandma Frump" -- every other article that I've read -- at Wikipedia and elsewhere -- reports that the characters in the cartoons were all nameless until the TV show went into production in the early 60s. Is there a citation supporting that she had a name in the New Yorker cartoons?PurpleChez (talk) 19:17, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There are some other potentially confusing parts of this article. In the "appearances section" -- in the first bullet point Grandmama and Granny Frump are two different people, while in the second the Grandmama character is referred to as Granny Frump. The article acknowledges the potential confusion growing out of the character's multiple and conflicting backstories, but may itself add to the confusion.PurpleChez (talk) 02:50, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
