Plagiarism[edit]

We can't have it both ways - there are sentences in this article that are identical to sentences appearing in the DNB article, and it was clearly either plagiarized from DNB or else ODNB copied them verbatim from DNB and we are both plagiarizing AND WP:COPYVIO from the non-public-domain ODNB. From the perspective of copyright, it doesn't matter if it derived from DNB directly or indirectly via ODNB because it is public domain and legitimate to use, but the ultimate source needs to be attributed. If we don't indicate that the text is public domain because it appeared first in DNB, then we are subject to accusations of violating the copyright of ODNB. We need to indicate that the sentences are not WP:COPYVIO, that they are identical to ODNB (if they are) because they derive from the public-domain DNB, or it needs to be rewritten.
