Greetings, SkierRMH. I was wondering if concert performance videos and other rock music related videos that were never theatrically released are part of WikiProject Films. Based on your recent edits of this article I infer that they are. Would this include videos that have a running time that is much shorter than a feature film? Also, does this mean that rock video articles would ideally include a film infobox? I did take a quick look at Wikiproject Films to try to find out if it includes music videos and I didn't see anything either way. Can you provide a link to a page that documents this policy? I'm not objecting, I'm just curious. In a related question, you added an internal link to "1989 in film" and a category of "1989 films". This video was shot in 1989 and originally released in 1997, so shouldn't the link and the category be to 1997? — Mudwater 11:22, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Answering backwards - you're right that the category should be 1997; fixed it and made a clarification in the 1st line. The confusion comes, at least from my part, is that IMDB lists it as 1989 (which is incorrect), All Music's "review" says recorded 1989, but doesn't give the release date (but their "album browser" does), and All Movie's only got the '89 date...

Regarding Rock videos and the like, there was a brief discussion here [1] but nothing more that I'm aware of. It appears that if a concert, etc., video was released (either direct to video or theatrically) in a 'film' format (VHS, DVD, etc.), it would fall under films. Regular music videos - no. Compilations video/song - no. There's a bit of gray area around some other formats; I've seen duplicate project tags on some. This article, however, clearly fits into the 'film' category because of it's format and the general nature of the video. SkierRMH 05:00, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
