Implementing new version[edit]

I am NOT merging just yet, let us be clear, but I am rolling in a new, longer, version of the article, although the plot sections need some work. Revert if you are royally pissed off and have a good reason to be. Editus Reloaded 16:21, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, we now have a complete article. All we need now is for an admin to fix up the move to Grave Danger and set the redirects after that. EDIT: Nuts. Didn't sign in. Editus Reloaded 13:32, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

The possibility of a requested move has been discussed previously; see Archive of move discussion

Similarities with Tarantino's work[edit]

I'm afraid it is wrong, unclear, tenuous or original research. This: "in the Tarantino film Kill Bill; both are buried alive in Plexiglas coffins" is probably wrong - I watched it at the weekend and I'm pretty sure it was wood. She punches her way through it to escape. I have the DVD so can recheck if nee be. Also it says it mirrors a line from Kill Bill but doesn't give the KB line. "... have also been compared to Tarantino's greyscale cinematography in the same film" if they have then we should be able to source it to whoever has done the comparison. The bit about bubblegum pop is reaching a bit and original research without a reference to back it up. I'd iamgien there are comparisons and discussion onthis (some at WP:RS I'm sure) but it does need solidly bolting down. the film was made in africa(Emperor 20:13, 2 July 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Sorry, wood. rm "in Plexiglas coffins". If you have the DVD, then find the KB line and put it in. RE: music, how can you source a statement that two pieces of music sound alike? For analysis, CSI Files is probably a good starting point. Editus Reloaded 10:14, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Struck out on CSI Files, we need to find more sources because this article is comparable in structure and length to several GAs and A-class episode articles so there's no reason why we can't do it too (that would be a milestone). Editus Reloaded 11:59, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thing is I'd try and find the line but I don't know what that is refering to. Which part of the 2 films is it in? Who says what to whom? I can't watch both films looking for a line which is a bit like that when I don't know what I'm looking for. ;) And how to prove two songs sound the same? You find WP:RS that say so and reference them, otherwise it is WP:OR. Given Tarantino's cult status someone must have done something like this. It might be that the DVD commentary is all that is needed - pity it gets shown so much in Blighty that I've never felt the need to pick up the DVDs ;) There is a lot of discussion on it out there and it might be possible to find a lead. For example [1] [2]. Reviews [3] [4]. Also possible sources [5] [6]. A good one for the Continuity: "Among the possibilites for Nick's kidnapper, Grissom mentions the stalker from episode 2.19". It also looks like a line from Kill Bill is repeated (the "I've got an edge" one - if anyone can place that I'll dig it out).
On a side note I think it is probably worth noting this has been released as a standalone DVD "C.S.I.: Grave Danger - The Tarantino Episodes" [7] [8]. (Emperor 13:10, 3 July 2007 (UTC))[reply]
Referenced most of the cinematographic bits using your cited sources, but the issue of the music still remains. I was very <sarcasm>surprised</sarcasm> to find that Googling "critical comparison of Stuck In The Middle With You by Stealers Wheel and Outside Chance by The Turtles" did not return a huge number of hits. Editus Reloaded 17:08, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
After some (say 4 months!) consideration, I think it is best to remove the music stuff as OR, as it blots an otherwise well written and referenced article. Editus Reloaded 19:30, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Probably for the best - if it can be sourced there is nothing against adding it back in. Anyone listened to the DVD commentary? Does that have any clues? (Emperor 20:03, 2 November 2007 (UTC))[reply]

blows himself`?[edit]

"Walter Gordon blows himself—and the knowledge of Nick's whereabouts—away" seems like a pun to me, although I confess it's kinda funny.
