Merging?[edit]

I don't think that there is enough information in the Monkey Joe page, and that it's even a sufficiently notable character. If it is sufficiently rewritten, I could see a case for it (he does serve as a narrator for the GLA miniseries), but as it stands, I say thee nay.

  • it's pretty ridiculous taht this page was created before a Squirrel Girl page. I created one last night, and the information on this page is redundant to information there, so this should really be deleted. Elijya 14:44, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Move the article? Where to?[edit]

If they don't call themselves GLA anymore, the article should probably be moved to some variation of GLX (comics) or Great Lakes X-Men. Opinions? Luis Dantas 22:13, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The group's name is best known as "The Great Lakes Avengers." and all variant names have been temporary and usually some sort of joke. This isn't the first time they've gone by a play on another group (The Lightning Rods to the regular Thunderbolts) and I suspect it won't be the last. --sigmafactor 00:21, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Sigma. It's not even 100% clear that they'll remain the GLX-Men, given that they reverted their costumes. Elijya 00:56, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good points. :) Luis Dantas 08:08, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just found the solicitation for the Civil War tie-in Cable/Deadpool:

In an effort to do his part, Deadpool crosses paths with the GREAT LAKES AVENGERS, and slices and dices his way to DAREDEVIL—THE MAN WITHOUT FEAR!

--sigmafactor 15:03, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They are going to remain the GLI until the Initiative falls. And I don't see why it would.Kairos (talk) 12:41, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

House of M?[edit]

I'm not even remotely up to date on comic stuff, but has this group been affected by the whole mutant depowering thing? It'd make a good addition to the article I think, if the issue has been addressed in the comics at all. Errick 09:19, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, the group was not affected by Decimation and all remained mutants. Elijya 14:01, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

recent mission[edit]

I shall change dinah's part about dying on a "recent" mission Towers84 13:17, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gene Lorrene[edit]

Should it be mentioned in the article somewhere that his name is a pun on Jean Loring? Daibhid C (talk) 20:30, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Appearance[edit]

In the new issue of Avengers: The Initiative [1]. Can I add the info now or do I have to wait? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lotsofinterviews (talkcontribs) 16:35, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

current moniker[edit]

When are they going to be given as the Great Lakes Initiative (considering that's apparrently their ID for the forseeable future)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.248.155.130 (talk) 07:07, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

Anyone know of a way to get a cover image of GLA: Misassembled as the image for this entry? I've tried using the large image from here--

--but Wikipedia Commons won't allow the upload (which is odd, as every comic book cover on WP seems to make the same fair use argument WC now won't allow). Thoughts? It seems unfortunate to use a WCA cover for the image here when the GLA had their own self-titled mini-series. Burks88 (talk) 06:49, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So upload it to en-Wiki instead of Commons. (I don't know how to do this myself, but I'm sure the help pages explain it.) rdfox 76 (talk) 02:30, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Rdfox, thanks! I actually had no idea you could do it that way, but I just did and it was real easy. Again, thanks. Burks88 (talk) 05:14, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
