"Screens passage"?[edit]

What does this term mean? Where are the screens and what made of, etc. 4.131.74.6 (talk) 16:22, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, "screens passage" redirects to this article, but though it is mention several times it's never explained. I can sort of infer some facts about it from the context of the mentions, but not confidently enough to write it up. Wiktionary has an entry, but it's not super helpful for those who don't already know about it. --Jim Henry (talk) 15:11, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Very england centric.[edit]

The beginning paragraph isnt very england centric, implying there are great halls all over europe:ie in france, spain and HRE. However the rest of the article only talks about english great halls. Another thing is differentiating Mead Hall and Great hall. The mead halls were called Great Halls of the king by the vikings themselves, and of course a lot of english descend from vikings, at least in part. So why is there no mention of the viking great halls, and maybe even the influence of those great halls over english great halls inside castles? Maybe the Mead Hall and Great hall articles should even merge. 174.93.159.227 (talk) 02:49, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
