Change of musical style in later albums

Can anyone explain why Gris-Gris sounds a lot different from his other albums (even Babylon of the same year)?

Deletion defense

I don't think that Gris-Gris should be deleted. It's turned up on multiple lists as being one of the best albums of the 1960s, if not of all time. I also believe that it played a significant role in the rise of Southern rock in the mid-70s. Please reconsider. Eyeball kid 22:03, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Drjohngrisgris.jpg

Image:Drjohngrisgris.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:40, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

additional info (for completeness of attribution):

I'm from Louisiana, and have seen (and heard) the album. I also have a copy. The pictures (front and rear cover - you gotta see the rear cover to truly appreciate the context of this music) are attributed to "Raphael". Album design is by "Marvin Israel". I would post a picture to verify this, but that seems to be rather counter-productive.184.77.162.199 (talk) 08:17, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Guilded or gilded ?

On every version I've seen, the track is named as "I Walk On Guilded Splinters" - with a U - rather than "Gilded". Was that a simple spelling mistake that's been perpetuated over the years - as I've assumed - or is there some other hidden meaning to "guilded" ? If it was an error, is it now right to "correct" the spelling to "Gilded" ? Ghmyrtle 21:47, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
