The Foundry's anti-discrimination ad.[edit]

Last nights (13/05) episode of The Gruen Transfer covered an interesting topic in their The Pitch segment, namely regarding The Foundry's Fat pride ad and how the ABC choose to not air that ad due to editorial concerns over the ad in question.

Now the ad in question was not shown, but a website has been created to not just show the ad, but the later discussion over the ad in question.

I feel this matter is something that is worth adding to the page, but I am unsure about the best way to go about discussing this matter. So if anyone feels like taking it up, go ahead.Squato (talk) 09:33, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it needs its own section, but I've added a fairly brief mention in the section on The Pitch segment. --Canley (talk) 05:14, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, that was all I felt needed to be said. Unless it becomes something bigger then it is (not likely), there is no need beyond a general impression of what happened.Squato (talk) 06:37, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2015 Season[edit]

On ABC iView its called "Gruen XL". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chuzzwassa (talkcontribs) 00:52, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The XL version is an extended edition (XL = Xtra Large) exclusive to iView — the broadcast version is just Gruen. --Canley (talk) 01:55, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Spin off or rename?[edit]

Is Gruen a spinoff of Gruen Transfer or just a renaming? It looks like it's the same format, the same people, the same everything (at least as far as I can recall) bar the name. Hollth (talk) 13:31, 6 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rename for sure. It has had several over the course of its life -- Whats new?(talk) 23:58, 6 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of this discussion was to merge as there has been no response either way after more than a month Allied45 (talk) 07:40, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that Gruen Planet be merged into The Gruen Transfer, which should subsequently be renamed to Gruen (TV series). It appears that the content in the Gruen Planet article is mostly duplicated from The Gruen Transfer, and this article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Gruen Planet will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. Additionally, Gruen Planet is effectively a retitled version of The Gruen Transfer (i.e. the same program, which is now known simply as Gruen) — Allied45 (talk) 09:16, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
