So make up your minds people, this article says Guadalcanal moustached Kingfisher is a subspecies of Bouganville moustached Kingfisher whereas the wikipedia article on the latter says the Guadalcanal bird is a separate species. Why in hell they have to kill the Bouganville specimen, commonsense tells me because it is endemic to Guadalcanal may very well mean it is a separate species. 'Tis quite a venerable practice to kill the last few specimens for collections, as you are probably aware... as for the Bougainville moustached kingfisher, that'll have to be updated (assuming we go with the interpretation taken here); I'll look into it (or you might :). -- Elmidae (talk) 09:58, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
