Structure and content[edit]

In this article, I was surprised to see a Background section that immediately launches into a biography about the author. I had expected this section to give me a synopsis or background of the story mentioned in the leade of the article. This article is about a book, so immediately being told a lot of information about the author and almost nothing about the events and subject the book is about is confusing to the reader. This seems like a surreptitious way to slip in an author's biography for someone who might be only notable for the book they wrote. I notice that Ellen Harris does not yet have her own biography, yet, and I do not know the reasons for that, but I think one should avoid slipping in a potted biography in the author so early in the article under a section that is giving the background of the subject of the book. While the information given about the author is relevant, it is not background material because it says nothing about the book. The second paragraph about the source of information included in the book, while relevant, is also not background material but is source material about the research undertaken for the book. What is "Background" is a synopsis of the culture family and events that are the subject of the book, which is about how Palestinian Terrorism result in a father murdering his Too-American daughter. The structure and content of this article should follow the non-fiction book article guidelines. That guideline does not recommend an author biography, though, in this case, a specifically titled section about the author that summarizes their biography and their relevant background for writing the book, where one cannot refer to the author's biography as a separate article, might be considered appropriate, if placed further towards the end of the article. Also appropriate is a separate section describing the source material and book development that was undertaken by the author. The order in which these sections appear in the article should follow the guidelines. I think doing this will improve the quality of the article. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 00:21, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
