Neutrality[edit]

This article is completely unsourced and makes statements that amount to the usual puffery so prevalent in Indian caste articles. All the stuff about varna status can never be verified satisfactorily in connection with an article concerning a surname and as such it should be removed. Much of the rest is also dire and I was very tempted to stub it. Can this be resolved? - Sitush (talk) 01:39, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Sitush... This is to inform you that Guhathakurata/ Guhathakurtas are infact Kulin Kayasthas and there is nothing wrong or 'puffed up' with this article. This article is devoid of any factual error and you are advised not to indulge in such editing endeavours, which may render this article erroneous. Thank you. Moved this article from Guhathakurta to this present title[edit]

The article originally had the title Guhathakurta. I thought that the title of the article was not accurate, since there are many famous people, like Dr. Madhulika Guha Thakurta and Kamalika Guha Thakurta, who do not seem to have any connection with the family. There is also no evidence whether they are the direct descendants of the family.

Hence, to ensure that other people do not face any problem in relating these people and the family, I moved this article to Guhathakurta family of Barisal (the present title). According to my opinion, that's a suitable title. Afterwards, I converted Guhathakurta (which was earlier a redirection) into a disambiguation page, so that people do not get diverted or confused. I have also mentioned about this family in the disambiguation page.
