Success[edit]

The article says that the service was cut even though it proved to be a success, but most statistics I can find show that it was one of Amtrak's more money-losing routes. --Delirium (talk) 09:50, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gulf Coast[edit]

I've been building out this page to encompass Amtrak's planned NOLA-Mobile service, since the route is essentially a restoration of the Gulf Coast Limited. It looks like Amtrak has started referring to the route as simply the Gulf Coast. Once we get close to a firm start date, I'm planning to move this page to Gulf Coast (train) (or whatever the final name is) and then rewrite the summary to focus on the new route. I feel this is consistent with articles for other restored/renamed trains, like Winter Park Express, unless there is enough material or difference to warrant multiple articles, like Texas Eagle and Texas Eagle (MP train).
