Translation[edit]

It is unclear to me if any of the materials in the article were translated. I assume they are, so adding a translation attribution. I peg the translation as starting with the initial version of the article. Since I will be adding new material from the current version, I have put the source version on the current version of nl:Gulp (rivier) as of today.

Roman times?[edit]

I found a source that give Galopia as one of the names of the river, and one that gives it as the Latin name of Gulpen, but the latter states that the first mention of the town is in the 11th century, not Roman times. nlwiki has this claim too, but cites no source for it. I also checked my 1977 Grote Winkler Prins, but it doesn't give any Latin name for the river. QVVERTYVS (hm?) 19:11, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There's a historical society in Limburg called [Heemkundevereniging Galopia]. I am going to send the contact address an Email and see if the society has any references to this name. Scooter1994 (talk) 20:02, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
