Color?[edit]

What color is gunmetal? From the picture, and from the fact that it is also called "yellow brass", it seems that the color is yellow. Yet most people appear to think that it is dark gray: try doing a Google image search for "gunmetal". What's the true color, then? 69.211.96.67 (talk) 09:20, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The color known as "gunmetal" is indeed dark grey - as is the alloy when it becomes tarnished enough. Salmanazar (talk) 22:03, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Variants compositions are given but not Gunmetal itself[edit]

The composition of Gunmetal is not given. What percentage of Copper, Zinc, and Tin is used in Gunmetal? The percentage amounts of the various components used in the variants of Gunmetal are given, but the composition of Gunmetal itself is not given. --NoahSpurrier (talk) 01:46, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Victoria Cross problem[edit]

I clicked on the Siege of Sevastopol link but it says the metal is believed to be from Chinese cannon captured in the 1840s instead. Wnt (talk) 15:47, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
