Daimler Armoured Car[edit]

Burstyn did not demonstrate the vehicle at any trials. He observed it, and it encouraged him to pursue his idea of a "tank," which had been inspired some years earlier by the sight of a motor torpedo boat. The Emperor might well have disapproved of the Daimler, but it was nothing to do with Burstyn. Hengistmate (talk) 06:48, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fear of Captivity, etc.[edit]

Porsche did not endure Soviet captivity. He was imprisoned in France, several months after Burstyn's death, so Burstyn cannot have been aware of that, and it cannot have influenced his actions. Hengistmate (talk) 08:31, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Gunther or Günther.[edit]

He was christened Günther, but as an adult used the name Gunther. He's referred to in the title as Günther, but in the text as both Gunther and Günther. His principal biographers refer to him as Gunther, as does German Wikipedia. Clearly, there has to be some consistency. I'm going to go with "Gunther". His christening name is acknowledged in the text, and it's a comparatively minor difference. I await the ritual objections. At least it should get it sorted out. French documentary on Netflix[edit]

Doc called "Age of Tanks" credits him with the very idea of tanks which seems ludicrous but if true worthy of mention.141.156.187.235 (talk) 13:56, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

And the documentary in question shows a photograph purporting to be of Gunther Burstyn which actually isn't. The incorrect photo has duly been inserted into Wikimedia and was previously used in this article. Hengistmate (talk) 22:18, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
