Query on unit designation:[edit]

Currently:

18 August 1941 - 22 October 1943 SS-Totenkopf-Kavallerie-Regiment 1 (renamed to SS-Kavallerie-Regiment 1 on 1 September 1941)

However, I believe that all former SS-TV units, except the TK-Division and its elements, lost the Totenkopf designation and insignia effective 25 Feb 1941. All the infantry TK-Standarten were renamed Infanterie-Regimenter at that time, and I'm pretty sure the same was true of the cavalry. 1 Sept 41 is the date of the creation of the Kav-Brigade, incorporating the two regiments. Lombard and command of the 23rd Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Kama (2nd Croatian)[edit]

I deleted material indicating that Lombard commanded the 23rd Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Kama (2nd Croatian). An IP editor has re-inserted that material using Gordon Williamson's Osprey Publishing The Waffen-SS (3) as a reference. Unfortunately, Williamson's mention of Lombard as commanding the Kama doesn't stack up with Pencz [1], who provides a great deal more detail on the 23rd SS Division than Williamson, only mentions Raithel as commander of the 23rd, explains that quite a few of the cadre of Kama ended up in Lombard's division and that some 'combat-ready' elements of the 31st and 23rd SS Divisions were thrown into combat on the Theiss. Now, the name of the kampfgruppe thrown into this battle was Syr, and Sepp Syr was a member of the cadre of the 13th SS Division, then the 23rd SS Division, and now had joined the 31st SS Division (along with the rest of the German cadre of the 23rd SS Division) as is explained by Pencz. There is also the issue that Lepre says Raithel regained control of the mutiny of Muslims that occurred on 17 October, so he was still commanding the division then. On that basis, I am again removing this material. Please discuss this matter here rather than engaging in an edit war. Thanks. Peacemaker67 (send... over) 12:52, 30 May 2013 (UTC) }}[reply]

Uncited summary[edit]

The material is uncited & has been challenged since Dec 2015. The key milestones are covered in the article; and the detailed summary is not needed. In any case. I'm preserving this material here by providing this link. K.e.coffman (talk) 02:31, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
