Another pioneer![edit]

Good article. Was Hines, Oregon named after him? Quick Google search didn't reveal much… -Pete 18:38, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't find out either, but Katr has the book. My guess is no since he was only in the Valley, not out towards Burns. Aboutmovies
Ah yes, the magic book. It would be interesting to find out - I'm kinda curious about the settlement of eastern OR, and how connected it was to western OR. About all I know of is the Pete French/California cattle rancher aspect. Anyway, thanks for the regular addition of pioneer bios - they're always interesting! -Pete 18:53, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Now I'm curious. I'm on my way home for lunch, so I'll check the good book. Katr67 18:55, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The Wikipedia article Pete listed above says it's named after Edward Hines. Forget Google, read Wikipedia! ;-) --Sprkee 19:46, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's 'cos I just added it, silly! Forget google, ask Katr and OGN!! :P Katr67 19:51, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it was there before...see the Geography section. Please don't add redundant information to Wikipedia. ;-) --Sprkee 19:53, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh phooey, what's it doing there? I never read those bot-produced sections. Does anybody? At least my entry has refs. :P Katr67 19:56, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Haha…yeah, I most have missed that too. Is that it - are those sections seriously added by automated scripts?? Maybe all our eyes are just somehow trained to ignore them…? -Pete 20:07, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, this is getting off topic, so let's continue on my talk page. Katr67 20:22, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
