Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because:

- The A7 criteria does not apply to this article because it has a credible claim of significance or importance, which is BOTH

i) supported by a reliable source

The article contains ample evidence that the subject is a leading authority in the topics discussed in the article, as proven by a number of inline citations, and further underscored by a rather extensive list of publications.

AND

ii) qualifies on Wikipedia's notability guidelines

The subject is a professor, notable in his domain, has held academic or research positions in various academic research institutes and thus qualifies under the notability criteria for academics http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(academics)

FURTHERMORE

The A7 criteria would not apply "even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines."

Since there is at the very least a credible claim, the A7 criteria should not have been applied in the first place as stated here: "It is irrelevant whether the claim of notability within the article is not sufficient for the notability guidelines. If the claim is credible, the A7 tag can not be applied. Often what seems non-notable to a new page patroller is shown to be notable in a deletion discussion."
