Wording issue[edit]

I wonder if the sentence "Together with Tom Ellis, former MP for Wrexham, and others, he created a powerful Welsh voice within the UK SDP" is potentially misleading. It comes immediately after the sentence "In 1981, he helped establish the Social Democratic Party" which suggests it is talking about the early days of the SDP. If so the issue is that Ellis was still MP for Wreham until the 1983 general election when he switched to fight the new Clwyd South West seat which he failed to win. Thus I wonder if the word "former" should be removed? "MP for Wrexham until 1983" might also be a better form of wording, possibly also mentioning that Ellis joined the SDP as a founding member in 1981? Dunarc (talk) 23:45, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
