Sections[edit]

I've added a few starting sentences. Much more work needed. At least "Competition", "History", "Medals", "Qualification" sections should be present, like in other similar articles. And tables of events look as if there were no events held in the past 100 years... Cmapm 11:20, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've slapped a few {{listdev}} templates on there. As for text, more would be great. Probably be a while before I get to it though. -- Jonel | Speak 12:06, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the quick response. Perhaps, later I'll return back to expanding this article too. Cmapm 12:21, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What do the numbers represent in the "Nations" table? I don't think it's obvious at the moment. -- ratarsed (talk) 18:28, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was just about to make the same comment. I cannot figure out what the numbers actually mean in that chart. And whatever it means, the fact that the Soviets are missing suggests that it's a meaningless chart. 24.188.76.206 (talk) 00:51, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Number of gymnasts the nation brought to that Games. Obviously, everything after 1920 is still missing. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 00:55, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is totally uninteresting. I propose to delete the whole section on grounds of incompleteness and pointlessness for the effort. Unless someone is going to complete the links to provide the names of every single Olympian, I don't see a reason to keep this. 128.122.91.47 (talk) 23:03, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
See (and comment at) Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Olympics#Nations tables in some Olympic sport articles. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 23:52, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

triathlon?[edit]

There's no note at Triathlon at the Summer Olympics about this past event, nor at Triathlon or Triathlon (disambiguation), there's no article for gymnastic triathlon... so what is it? 70.51.11.210 (talk) 05:49, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gymnastics at the 1904 Summer Olympics - Men's triathlon should have that info now. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 06:27, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Team Size[edit]

Could someone explain why the team sizes keep shrinking? In 1996, there were seven-person teams, as recently as 2008 there were six-person teams, and now it's apparently down to five people per team. What's up with that? Tad Lincoln (talk) 03:54, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not official, but this explanation is basically that the total number of gymnasts is fixed by the IOC at 98 (i.e., 98 men and 98 women in artistic gymnastics), and FIG has shrunk the team size to allow more individual competitors--instead of 72 slots taken up by teams, now only 60 are. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 04:12, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
