Change of use[edit]

I've changed this from a redirect to a Ship article. There is very little at HMS Wyandra about the ship itself, and anyway she is much better known as Baralong, so I've re-written it here. I trust that is OK with everyone. Xyl 54 (talk) 23:56, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV[edit]

It is not sure, that the Baralong showed the White Ensign before opening fire during the first incident. And another question to the following sentences: Baralong scored 34 hits with her main battery, as well as machine gun and small arms fire, and U-27’s crew abandoned ship as the U-boat sank. Baralong manoeuvred to pick up Nicosian's crew, but the men from U-27, instead of surrendering, made for Nicosian in order to board her. The german submarine sank and the german survivors were swimming in the water for saving their lives. How should a sailor who is swimming in the water under such circumstances signalize that he has the intention to surrender? I think it is clear that they wanted to save their lives and tried to reach the next ship which was there. Everyone would do this. And the "fact" that they didn't surrender before entering such a ship should be a plausible reason for shooting at them? This article only presents the british point of view I think. There is no reference for the assertion that the men in the water were attempting to board the Nicosian in the sense of trying to capture it and as such no implication should be made in the first place ("instead of surrendering" implies they intended to continue acting as combatants).Historian932 (talk) 19:16, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
