As HMS Winger[edit]

I'm confused, Shearwater was a Kingfisher class sloop rather than a Flower class corvette. Is it saying that Montsarrat based the actions of the fictional HMS Winger on what Shearwater did? Or that Shearwater played the part of Winger in a film? Benea (talk) 04:09, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Launched before being laid down?[edit]

The article says that HMS Shearwater was laid down on the 15th of August 1939 and launched on the 18th of April 1939. That would imply that building her took negative time, that she was launched before her construction began. And therefore it can't be right.

The cited source "HMS Shearwater at Uboat.net" says that she was laid down in 1938, not 1939. I have edited the article accordingly.
