The Technical History and Index[edit]

"Fire Control in H.M. Ships". The Technical History and Index: Alteration in Armaments of H.M. Ships During the War. 3 (23). 1919.

The reference here is very wrong. In The Technical History and Index there is "Fire Control in H.M. Ships" (Volume 3 Part 23) and there is "Alteration in Armaments of H.M. Ships During the War" (Volume 4 Part 34). Which is it? Page 29 of neither supports note 3. Also, where are these copies coming from? I'm somewhat confused that the article suggest the CT was used for controlling & directing the guns? As far as i was aware, the CT was a conning position, for the direction of the ship, whilst gunnery teams were separate from the command staff and were located elsewhere. This had been the case for ironclad era ships (which had spotter and gunnery direction positions separate from the main command CT) and was certainly the case for early light cruisers around 1910 onwards. 2A00:23C7:3119:AD01:A275:2F3D:7328:51CF (talk) 12:08, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
