Notability

There has been a question of notablility for the article topic, hacker artist.

As the author of this article, and hacker artist myself, I feel that there should be an article describing what a hacker artist is. It is a different kind of artist, just like a painter and sculptor are different types of artists.

Hacker artists deserve to be known just as other types of artists are known here on wikipedia.

This is my first article I have created for wikipedia.org so I really need help crafting this article.

I think that tagging it for lack of notability before it's even finished is abit brash. Please help instead of bash/delete. --lile 18:45, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Give the article a chance.

Hacker artists are notable.

Similar to digital artists, computer artists, and the art of programming - that is coding. Some of which is as beautiful as the best sonnets, novels, paintings, but takes the time to learn to appreciate it. E,g, you can't appreciate French poetry, if you can't understand French.

This article needs a picture of some technological art.

Can you get mkl to release permissions on the Cubatron, the world's largest true 3D color graphics display? That would be a great photo for the article, but maybe needs to be cropped a little to fit well in the upper-right corner of small screens. 71.132.131.237 23:53, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Please move to "Hacker artist"

Anyone who is logged in (I only edit anonymously these days) please click on the "move" tab and change "Hacker Artists" to "Hacker artist" to meet Wikipedia's style and title policy/guidelines. Restored talk page

I have restored the Talk page which had items blanked by 71.132.131.237. Please do not blank Talk pages; they exist as an important part of the history of an article; if you need to update a request in the light of following developments (like a page move), make an addition to your edit, but do not, under any circumstances, remove others' comments (except obvious vandalism) and avoid removing your own. Simply because you consider the matter of notability settled does not mean that every other Wikipedia editor agrees. And as to the page move, I think the page probably belongs at Hacker art, referring to the phenomenon as such as opposed to particular practitioners; others may wish to note the previous name, request for move, etc., without having to piece it together by digging through the article history. Fair use rationale for Image:Bm2005.jpg

Image:Bm2005.jpg is being used on this article. The current definition of "hacker artist" is baseless and superficial.

It relies heavily on the use of technology in producing a result. "Hacker art" is more of a philosophical based movement and should not be confused with the clever use of materials and techniques to produce technological artifacts. I therefore move that an alterative base definition for "hacker artist", and in fact, "hacker art", be developed. We currently only have a few leaves to build upon, leaving the root of "hacker art" relatively untouched.
