I took out the "best known" paragraph because no-one knows the totality of people world wide who are aware of either Hadleigh, and how many of them associate the name with the two locations, respectively. The number of Constable scholars is quite considerable. I thought this simpler that flagging NPOV. Number of scholarly books and articles on Constable and number of citations to these can be found easily.

Also, I think I have seen TWO paintings of the castle by Constable. I extended the sentence about the painting that is mentioned, because wording was unusual and because the Yale Center has outpost in UK (at one time in St. James Street -- maybe still there).

ALSO: in 1947--1949 time slot, there was a site, near the castle, that housed teen age male refugees from Germany and countries it had annexed. This may have been the Salvation Army Center. Should be possible to find out by someone with closer interest. I just found this site when trying to clean up Leigh-on-Sea article.
