More or less a copy of web doc[edit]

and I see no support for some of the facts, like the governors under Ur. Also, it looks like the Hamazi of Elba is most likely a different entity than the Hamzi of the sumerian king list. Ploversegg (talk) 22:25, 14 July 2008 (UTC)ploversegg[reply]

More likely, that web doc was cribbed from this wikipedia article, that I wrote myself from a wide variety of research sources. At the time I wrote it, I could not find as much information on any one page, as that doc you linked has got. This suggests to me that the link is influenced by wikipedia, since I know for a fact it's not the other way around.

Also, all sources in my research are unanimous that both Hamazi's are the same; I've never seen any published source suggest there were two entities, so that idea may be OR if it isn't published anywhere. Til Eulenspiegel (talk) 12:14, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thats cool. The reason I wondered about the two locations was I happened

i.e. Eblaitica: Essays on the Ebla Archives and Eblaite Language and noted footnote 477 which says that the Ebla Hamazi should not be confused with the Zagros one. It also says that the Ebla request was not for mercenaries but rather for onagers (the footnote continues on the next page). But ... it's not a big deal.
