Page move[edit]

I am starting this section to give the editor that performed the previous move the opportunity to explain why he or she feels the page should be moved, if indeed they still do. I would request that they refrain from moving in the meantime, but if this must be done, please complete the procedure in one page move. Thanks to User:Spartaz for sorting out the technical problems with the previous double move. Regards, WFCforLife (talk), Help wikipedia. Make the pledge. 06:21, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

player name[edit]

the player first name is Aamir not Hameur in arabic its عامر ،،،

hameur in arabic means Greasy grouper .. so please move the name back to Aamir Bouazza. --نسر برلين (talk) 23:16, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Craig means "rock" in gaelic. But if someone calls themself Craig, and is called Craig not only by people they they know, but also the reliable sources they don't, we tend to follow that. WFCforLife (talk) 04:30, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name: Hamer or Hameur[edit]

This page was recently moved to adjust for a presumably corrected name, but I'm having trouble verifying that his name is "Hamer" rather than "Hameur." The source cited for "Hamer" is the Turkish Football Federation website (https://www.tff.org/Default.aspx?pageId=526&kisiID=1255352), yet this seems to be an outlier. Indeed, almost every other profile for him, as well as almost every article cited in this page that mentions him, spells it "Hameur". I'm a bit confused as to why this page was moved and "corrected" based on fewer sources than those which establish his name as "Hameur".

Here is a selection of examples of profiles that show "Hameur" rather than "Hamer" (there are also dozens of articles that follow suit):

Here are all the profiles I could find that use "Hamer" rather than "Hameur":

The reality is that I don't know how he spells his name, but the evidence available more strongly suggests that his name is spelled "Hameur" rather than "Hamer". I think some clarification is needed to justify moving the page to "Hamer Bouazza" from "Hameur Bouazza". Anwegmann (talk) 02:01, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

He spells his name Hamer, as this is the name he used when he registered his fast food businesses in France : https://www.verif.com/dirigeants/Hamer-BOUAZZA-3826881/ Frenchl (talk) 18:21, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also his UNFP shows "Hamer" : https://www.unfp.org/joueur/hamer-bouazza-17589/ Frenchl (talk) 18:32, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Those are good sources. Please cite them rather than the TFF profile. Anwegmann (talk) 18:57, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And finally, Hamer is the name used by the FFF : https://footclubs.fff.fr/f2000var/F2000P/data/doc/MA/201760/FMI19445660.pdf Frenchl (talk) 19:00, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Again, please cite these reasonable and credible sources rather than the TFF profile. Anwegmann (talk) 19:39, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Frenchl (talk) 19:42, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
