Robert Francis Vetch[edit]

It seems quite likely that the dates given by Stevens for the second son, Francis, are incorrect, and that this was Robert Francis Vetch who joined the 20th Foot in 1867, and was dismissed from the army in 1875. Then in Baker's Horse, where there is a reference to him (presumably) as Francis Vetch. (Gentlemen of Brave Mettle: Life in Early East Griqualand, Roy Frederick Harber, p.99.)
