Hawaiian background[edit]

Interestingly, the Chinese Wikipedia page on Hanya Yanagihara says she is of Japanese background. It also converts Yanagihara into kanji according to the Japanese reading of "Yanagihara":

This is something I'd never encountered before but a quick Google search seems to bring up that yes, is Japanese. I'll take a listen to the podcast I mentioned and then possibly find a way to incorporate the information. Nice find! Cawhee^Talk 18:36, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
