Keep the article[edit]

The article may not be adequately sourced, but Happy99 was a very significant virus, many people receiving multiple copies in email, and as such, the article should not be tagged for deletion. Eauhomme (talk) 17:16, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

From the Wikipedia notability guidelines, "notability is not temporary," so as long as Happy99 once was once notable it remains notable even 10 years later. I beleive this worm received signifcant press coverage at the time although I do not have a good source for this. Happy99 was considered notable enough to have an entry in the Timeline of notable computer viruses and worms article.
